Claire Coates is a multifaceted professional whose career spans over 20 years in athletic training, sports medicine, and allied healthcare. With a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Athletic Training from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree in Applied Physiology & Kinesiology from the University of Florida, Claire has developed a deep expertise in strength and conditioning, injury management, and performance optimization. Her professional journey includes roles as Senior Associate Athletic Trainer at the University of Michigan, Co-Head Athletic Trainer at Oakland University, and Gatorade Manager for Paragon Marketing Group, demonstrating her ability to combine technical knowledge with hands-on athletic support and education.
In addition to her work in athletics, Claire is a passionate entrepreneur and public speaker. She founded Mrs. Clutch Virtual Assistance, a business dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and small business owners streamline operations through virtual administrative support, event coordination, and project management. Claire’s approach emphasizes collaboration, efficiency, and positivity, creating systems that allow her clients to focus on growth while she handles the details behind the scenes. Her TEDx talk, “The Bane and Beauty of Injury,” along with numerous guest lectures, keynote speeches, and awards, underscores her commitment to education and empowerment in both sports and business.

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are family, health, and balance, as I prioritize spending quality time with my kids, staying active through exercise and sports, and exploring new places through travel.
