Claire Coates is a dynamic leader whose career spans more than 20 years across athletic training, sports medicine, recreation, and allied healthcare. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Athletic Training from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree in Applied Physiology & Kinesiology from the University of Florida, grounding her work in deep expertise in injury management, injury prevention, emergency response, and performance optimization.


Claire’s professional experience includes serving as Senior Associate Athletic Trainer at the University of Michigan Athletic Department, Co-Head Athletic Trainer at Oakland University, and Athletic Trainer at IMG Academy. Across these roles, she has consistently combined technical excellence with education, mentorship, and hands-on support—earning a reputation as both a trusted clinician and an effective leader.


Beyond athletics, Claire is a passionate entrepreneur and sought-after speaker. She is the founder of Mrs. Clutch Virtual Assistance, a healthcare-focused virtual support firm that helps physicians, allied healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, and small business owners streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reclaim valuable time. Known for her collaborative and solutions-driven approach, Claire builds systems that allow her clients to focus on growth and patient-centered care—while she manages the details that keep everything running smoothly.
