Her Interview
Ten minutes with Clara
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to walking onto the rowing team at Bucknell. That took a huge belief in myself. I rode in high school but didn't go through the recruiting process. It taught me that I really can do what I set my mind to and I'm in control of my own future. Being confident in myself has given me success because I've applied it to my internships, networking and classes. Athletics truly has made the biggest difference in my life.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I really like the saying, be a sponge, because it just reminds you to absorb everything, absorb the environment, ask questions, be open to feedback. And just take it all in, because you know what you don't know.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I really value integrity, communication, and also positivity. For rowing, it's very important to pull yourself to a high standard and have a lot of integrity with your training and with recovery. In the workplace, it's super important that even if nobody is really watching you, you always make sure that you're putting out the best output. Communication is very important in both athletics and working. Positivity - I'm definitely a very bubbly person, so it's important to me to have an environment that I feel comfortable in and happy to come to work every day.
