Clarena Renfrow

Clarena M. Renfrow, M.Ed., is an experienced educational technology specialist and instructor dedicated to empowering both educators and learners through the thoughtful integration of technology. With over two decades in the field, she currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Educational Technology at Castleton University, where she has taught graduate-level courses since 2009. In this role, she helps teachers incorporate emerging tools—such as artificial intelligence and digital learning platforms—into inclusive and engaging classroom practices.
In addition to her work in higher education, Clarena teaches information technology at Rutland Senior High School and serves as an instructor at 101 Financial NE, where she educates individuals and families on personal finance, including budgeting and credit management. Her previous roles include Technology Integration Coach at Fair Haven Union High School and IT Teacher at Poultney High School, where she focused on building digital literacy and 21st-century skills among students.
Clarena holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and advanced certification as a Technology Integration Specialist from the University of Vermont. She is licensed in Business Education, Technology Integration, Online Teaching, and Work-Based Learning. Her commitment to excellence in education has been recognized through several awards, including the ISTE “Making IT Happen” award, the Goethe Institute STEM Transatlantic Outreach Fellowship, and the VITA-Learn Project Ignite Teacher Award.
