About Clarissa
Clarissa Lopez is a certified athletic trainer and sports medicine professional with experience supporting professional athletes. She currently contributes to NBA G League operations with the Mavericks, a role she began in October 2024. In this position, she assists with off-season operations including draft workouts and Summer League, while preparing for the season and caring for players completing workouts. Previously, she worked as an athletic trainer for the Houston Astros starting in 2023 at their spring training complex, supporting rookie teams, draftees, and assigned rehab players needing rehab games. Lopez began her educational journey at community college, earning an associate degree in a year and a half. She then completed a bachelor's in Kinesiology at DSA, which had a sports medicine focus, followed by an internship with the WNBA Aces in 2019. During COVID, she pursued a graduate degree in athletic training at UTA. She holds a corrective exercise specialist certification and training in dry needling. She is a member of Minority Women in Sports Medicine and NATA.
