							Claudia Bonin, PhD, is a geomechanics subject matter expert with extensive experience in structural engineering, energy, and infrastructure. She combines technical expertise with a strong leadership presence to deliver innovative solutions across consulting and business transformation projects. Claudia’s work spans digital transformation, machine learning applications, and porous media mechanics, driving both technical performance and measurable business outcomes. She is committed to fostering collaboration between technical and digital teams to develop cutting-edge workflows and optimize project results.
With 16 years of experience at Halliburton, Claudia has held key roles in drilling fluids, rock mechanics, and global consulting. She has led multinational teams, restructured workflows, and managed extensive portfolios of geomechanical modeling projects at well and reservoir scales. Her leadership has driven significant revenue growth, introduced advanced capabilities such as 3D geomechanical modeling and unconventional reservoir mechanics, and produced over 200 successfully completed projects. Claudia has also published widely in peer-reviewed journals and created curricula for unconventional geomechanics training.
Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and Italian, with reading proficiency in French, Claudia is passionate about people development, project management, and mentoring the next generation of engineers. Her research focuses on the mechanics of porous media and naturally fractured rock masses, integrating modeling and field data analysis with data science techniques. Claudia holds a PhD in Structural Engineering and has completed advanced programs in digital transformation and AI, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and innovation in the geomechanics and energy sectors

I would advise young women entering the industry to prioritize continuous learning, cultivate confidence, and develop strong leadership skills, as these are essential for long-term career success.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life include volunteering, giving back to the community, and embracing experiences that broaden my perspective, such as road trips. I am actively involved with Christian Ministries and participate in company-supported charitable initiatives.
