What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to genuinely loving what I do and finding joy in being part of people's journey to homeownership. I think of closings as a party where everyone who has worked so hard finally comes together - the realtors, mortgage brokers, inspectors, and of course the buyers and sellers. Being able to hand people their keys and be excited with them, taking pictures at the end and celebrating that moment when they have the security of not having to worry about a landlord kicking them out - that's what keeps me going. Even when the work is incredibly challenging and detailed, with so many moving parts that one mistake could mess up four more things, I stay motivated because I know that at the end of the day, everybody needs a house, and it's amazing to be part of making that happen. The ocean has also helped me so much - being able to walk to the beach just two blocks away and regulate myself when life gets hard. Little kid me is still amazed that I live at the beach now, and that sense of taking care of myself and working toward what I wanted has been crucial to sustaining my passion for this work.
