About Cora
Cora Moore serves as Founder and Executive Director of CTRL+CREATE, a nonprofit she established in March 2025 in Galveston, Texas. The organization uses art as a tool to empower youth through culturally responsive, healing-centered spaces, offering art workshops, on-campus mentorship at GISD, community gardens in lower-income housing, youth listening sessions, and an environmental youth cohort. Moore brings more than a decade of experience working with youth, including as a founder of the Galveston Children's Museum, project director of the Freedom School at NIA Culture Center, and roles at Big Brothers Big Sisters and Iconoclass. Her educational background includes one semester at UConn and focused training in nonprofit business, mental health first aid, and trauma-informed education through Big Brothers Big Sisters, along with a United Way data fellowship. She has received honors including an award through the NEA Culture Center's Kwanzaa Celebration, completion of the United Way data fellowship, first place in Philanthropision for most money earned and community vote, and a nomination for the City of Galveston Arts and Culture Award. Moore maintains partnerships with Iconoclass, Prevention Institute, Hogg Foundation, United Way, and Texas A&M Youth Rising Lab.
