Cori Dennis

Cori Dennis serves as the High School Outreach and Summer Programs Coordinator at the University of Arizona College of Engineering. In this role for the past three years, she directs summer camps that introduce middle and high school students to engineering on campus, expanding participation from roughly 140 to 270-280 high school students and from 40 to 130 middle school students annually. Dennis began her career after starting college in engineering and then teaching special education math for 23 years across elementary, middle, and high school levels. She advanced to administrator, running IEP meetings and serving as department chair with Baltimore County Public Schools, followed by a position as special education assistant director with Tucson Unified School District. Relocating to Arizona led her to this outreach position, where she emphasizes access, belonging, and community for Tucson students through crowdfunding, sponsorships, and a Women in Engineering camp. She also advises engineering ambassadors, helping college students build leadership and communication skills, and received a college award from her dean recognizing increased student yield from the camps.
