Her Interview
Ten minutes with Cori
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say motivation and knowing that I'm contributing to a good product that satisfies my customers. Throughout my career, what has really driven me is the knowledge that the work I'm doing makes a difference - that the systems I build, the cultures I create, and the teams I develop are all contributing to something meaningful. It's about knowing that at the end of the day, I'm helping deliver quality products that our customers can trust and rely on. That sense of contribution and purpose is what keeps me going and what I believe has been the foundation of whatever success I've achieved.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Really just be your true, authentic self. Make sure that you're doing work that you can be proud of, make sure that you're doing work that you feel confident about, and that you can look back at and be like, damn, I did that. It's so important to stay true to who you are and not try to be someone you're not in order to fit in or get ahead. Find work that aligns with your values and that you can stand behind with pride. At the end of the day, you want to be able to look at what you've accomplished and feel genuinely proud of the contribution you've made.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in software quality today is helping organizations shift from a reactive approach of finding defects late in the process to a proactive culture of preventing them from occurring in the first place. The greatest opportunity lies in embedding quality earlier in the development lifecycle, improving collaboration across teams, accelerating release cycles, and developing future leaders who view quality as a shared responsibility rather than the responsibility of a single department.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my professional and personal life are authenticity, a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, mentorship, teamwork, and a genuine desire to help others reach their full potential and do their best work.
