What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the most valuable pieces of career advice I’ve ever received is: “If you’re not failing, you’re not doing something right.” For a long time, I didn’t fully understand it, but over time I realized that success is not defined by wins alone—it’s shaped by setbacks. I’ve learned that failures build character, strength, and resilience. While hearing “no” can be discouraging, those experiences have ultimately shaped my growth and contributed significantly to my ability to succeed.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering my industry not to allow themselves to be a pushover. It is important to stand firm in what you believe, while ensuring your perspective is supported by data and well-researched information. Equally important is the ability to clearly and confidently present your ideas. Having the facts to back up your position strengthens your voice and helps ensure you are taken seriously in professional discussions.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field right now stem from changing consumer habits and financial pressures. Gen Z is drinking less alcohol, and millennials are dining out less often due to budget constraints and shifting priorities toward staying home with family.
At the same time, this creates an opportunity to rethink how we market and engage customers. It pushes us to be more creative, adapt quickly, and move away from traditional approaches that may no longer be effective.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are ethics and empathy. I prioritize maintaining strong ethical standards and doing what is right, even in difficult situations, while also bringing empathy into how I lead and work with others. Being able to understand and support people during challenging times has been essential in building strong teams and fostering positive, effective working relationships.
