Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I would say I'm definitely a team player - that's one of my key attributes. I'm also really organized and detail-oriented, and I feel like those qualities have helped me get far in my career. I like to create processes and work instructions to help myself and other’s succeed in a project.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I would say the best career advice I've received is to try and be in front of leadership as much as possible and get your voice out there. Be open and ask the questions - don't be afraid to ask all the questions. That's really helped me throughout my career.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I'd say there definitely needs to be more opportunities to keep growing and keep moving up in my industry. There's a lot of projects and new things coming to the table, so I want to constantly keep growing and keep moving forward however I can.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I would say definitely being communicative - being really clear about what's needed, and not just in work, but at home too. If you forget to say something or if something is worded wrong, I just try to be more detailed and clear about what's needed. Another important value for me is being empathetic to what's going on day-to-day. I'm part of the women's group at my work, and I want to value everyone, no matter their background or diversity. I feel like it's not just about a work environment where we're getting things done - I try to have personal relationships with people at work, and that has helped me get far. Having better relationships at work helps me with the end goal too. If somebody knows me better at the plant, that helps me build a stronger relationship with them for a project.
