Her Story
About Cristina
Christina Cooper owns and operates Windows to Time Events, an event planning business based in Orange Park, Florida. With a science background from Georgia, she previously worked for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Firearms before leaving to care for family. She started her business nearly three years ago after registering with the state and obtaining liability insurance, driven by a desire to create meaningful moments inspired by her grandmother's house. Cooper specializes in nonprofit events and unique community impact initiatives, hosting a different event each month to raise funds and awareness for various organizations, including girls' night out dinners and Driving Hope Forward with Clay County Fire Rescue. She has earned second place for Best of Clay in the event planners category for 2025. Active in her community, Cooper serves as treasurer on the Girl Scouts leadership team, participates in the Chamber and Rotary Club, and contributes to Clay Radio by hosting a weekly podcast on local events. She values family, integrity, authenticity, and showing up for others, and advises young women to find their passion, avoid following the crowd, and stay true to themselves. Cooper attributes her success to surrounding herself with a strong team of independent women, continuous learning through trainings and books, and reinvesting in her business and personal growth.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Cristina
01What do you attribute your success to?
I don't listen to other people's opinions of what I should do or not do. My success comes from surrounding myself with an amazing group of people. I never stop learning. I read a book of pleasure and then a book of knowledge. I alternate them. It's so important to reinvest in myself and to give back to the community. I spend every free moment either working on my business or working on myself. I go to a lot of trainings. I spend a lot of money investing in myself. I learn from women and spend a lot of time around women. I support myself with very strong, independent, intelligent people and I'm always learning. I know that my way is not the only way to do things and I allow everybody else's strengths to shine through in our business.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Find what makes you passionate. For me, it's not weddings. Don't follow the crowd. A lot of people are like, there's no money in nonprofits. But what I've done in nonprofits has opened up doors for me in the for-profit world. Don't be afraid of doing something outside the norm and being true to yourself. Do what you believe in first and foremost.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family. Your integrity is everything. To me, if your word means nothing, then there's no point. Everything you do, you have to be able to stand behind that. When you tell somebody you're gonna show up, you show up regardless of the stumbles and the hurdles. Being authentic and being authentically you. Offering a value and understanding that you are your brand. You are the representative of your business. If you're starting a new business, it's not somebody else's job to show up. It's your job to show up.
