Crystal Beckvold is a Lead Robotics Prototyping Engineer at Humanoid, where she spearheads the development of cutting-edge humanoid robots. With a career that spans over a decade at Boston Dynamics and other innovative tech companies, Crystal brings extensive experience in robotics, electrical systems, and mechanical design to her role. She leads lab build efforts, manages prototype assembly and documentation, and develops troubleshooting practices while training teams across multiple locations, helping bring the future of robotics closer to reality.

Prior to joining Humanoid, Crystal served as a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician and later as a Senior Supervisor at Boston Dynamics, contributing to some of the most advanced humanoid robotics projects in the world. Her day-to-day responsibilities ranged from diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance to R&D test stand development, cable and harness management, hydraulic system testing, and occasional software support. Known for her ability to bridge the gap between engineering and technician teams, she ensures that complex robotic systems remain serviceable, safe, and high-performing.

Crystal earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Manufacturing Technology from Siena Heights University and holds multiple D17.1 Aerospace welding certifications. Her expertise in electronics was largely developed on the job, while her mechanical skills were honed through hands-on experience working on vehicles in her personal garage. Crystal combines technical mastery with creativity, problem-solving, and mentorship, making her a driving force in the rapidly evolving field of humanoid robotics.
