Her Interview

Ten minutes with Crystal

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance, faith in the process, and a genuine desire to keep becoming better than I was yesterday. My journey has taught me that success rarely comes from having everything figured out—it comes from being willing to keep going, keep learning, and keep growing, even when the path doesn’t look exactly the way you planned.

I’ve always believed in investing in myself through education, new experiences, and professional development. Every challenge has taught me something, and every lesson has helped shape the businesswoman and leader I am today.

But what makes success most meaningful to me is being able to use what I’ve learned to help someone else move forward. Whether I’m helping a business owner gain clarity, become more confident in their finances, or turn an idea into something sustainable, knowing that my work has made a difference is what keeps me motivated.

For me, success isn’t just about what I’ve built or accomplished. It’s about who I’ve become along the way, the people I’ve been able to help, and the legacy I’m continuing to build.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received was to never be afraid to use my voice. I learned that my experiences, ideas, and perspective have value, and that speaking up can create opportunities not only for me, but for others as well.

I’ve also learned the importance of supporting and encouraging the people around me. Success is much more meaningful when you can help someone else grow along the way.

Most importantly, I’ve learned not to run from challenges. Some of my greatest professional growth has come from situations that pushed me outside of my comfort zone. Challenges have taught me to trust myself, become more resourceful, and keep moving forward even when I don’t have every answer.

My career has shown me that growth happens when you’re willing to speak up, support others, and have the courage to take on what challenges you.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to trust yourself and never underestimate what you bring to the table. You don’t have to know everything on day one, and you certainly don’t have to become someone else to be successful. Be willing to learn, ask questions, and grow, but always stay true to who you are.

One lesson I’ve learned personally through building my own businesses is that there will be times when you have to believe in yourself before other people fully see your vision. I’ve had to step outside of my comfort zone, make difficult decisions, learn new skills, and trust that the knowledge and experience I had gained prepared me for the next level. Those experiences taught me that confidence doesn’t always come before the challenge; sometimes you develop it because you were willing to take on the challenge.

Know your worth, even when you find yourself in rooms where you may be the youngest, the newest, or the only woman at the table. Your voice matters, your ideas have value, and you deserve to be there.

I also encourage women to lead with both confidence and compassion. You can be strong, strategic, and ambitious while still being kind and supportive of others. There is room for all of us to succeed.

Most importantly, don’t be afraid to create your own path. Sometimes the opportunity you’re looking for won’t already exist. You may have to have the courage to build it yourself.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I see right now is that many business owners are working incredibly hard, but they don’t always have a clear picture of what’s happening behind the scenes in their business. They may be bringing in revenue, but they’re unsure where the money is going, whether they’re truly profitable, how to prepare for taxes, or where they should invest to grow.

At the same time, I see that challenge as a tremendous opportunity. Business owners have access to more tools, technology, and ways to reach customers than ever before, but having more tools doesn’t automatically create a better business. You still need a strategy.

That’s where I believe my work makes a difference. I enjoy helping business owners connect the dots between their finances and their marketing. Your numbers should help guide your growth decisions, and your marketing should ultimately support the financial goals of the business. When those two areas work together, owners can make decisions with greater confidence instead of constantly reacting to whatever happens next.

For me, the opportunity is helping entrepreneurs move from simply running a business to truly understanding it—knowing their numbers, being intentional about their growth, and building something that can remain profitable and sustainable for years to come.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, honesty, and kindness are at the heart of how I try to live my life and conduct business. I believe that how you treat people matters just as much as the results you produce. For me, doing the right thing—even when no one is watching—is something I take seriously.

I also believe in being honest with people, even when the conversation may be difficult. Whether I’m working with a client, leading a team, or supporting someone personally, I want people to know that they can trust me to be genuine, transparent, and consistent.

Kindness is equally important to me. You never really know what someone may be carrying or going through, and sometimes a little patience, encouragement, or understanding can make a bigger difference than we realize.

Ultimately, I try to lead by example. I’m not perfect, and I don’t expect anyone else to be. But I do believe in showing up with good intentions, taking accountability, treating people with respect, and leaving people and situations a little better than I found them.
