Crystal Marcus Kanesaka is a professional in the tech industry with nearly 25 years of experience. She began her career in film and television, spending the first 7 years in network television before moving to tech in 2007. There she worked in a video capacity for editorial teams iterating on first-generation streaming video technology. She later built a full-time consulting practice in the tech space about 10 to 12 years ago, focusing on educational content across various sectors. She also teaches martial arts.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Choose your partner wisely because your romantic partner will be the most important business partner you will ever have for managing all of your family business for the rest of your life. That person is deciding major decisions like finances, elder care, and whether to pull the plug. It's the biggest business decision you can make, and young people can't understand the gravitas of that choice.
