Her Story
About Crystal
After years working in the nonprofit sector and later becoming a stay-at-home mom, Crystal Parks recognized that many families were struggling to afford a basic necessity that government assistance doesn't cover: diapers. That realization inspired her to establish the Diaper Bank for Northeast Florida in 2019. She is passionate about bringing people together to solve community challenges and believes lasting change happens through collaboration, innovation, and strong partnerships. Her vision is to ensure diaper need is recognized with the same urgency as food insecurity so that every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Ten minutes with Crystal
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to having a clear vision for what's possible. I believe the Diaper Bank for Northeast Florida can become as recognizable and essential to our community as a food bank. I envision a day when families see our mobile diaper distribution vehicle in their neighborhood and immediately know help has arrived. That vision, combined with the growing need in our community, motivates me to keep building partnerships and expanding our reach.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Do your research first. Check to see who's possibly doing the work currently and see how you can partner with them. Collaboration is key. Find where you can lend your talents and your time before actually creating something new.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Awareness is our biggest challenge. Most people don't think about diaper need until they've experienced it themselves. Because we work through a network of nonprofit partners rather than operating a walk-up site, many people don't know the Diaper Bank for Northeast Florida exists. Increasing awareness among donors, businesses, and community leaders is essential to expanding our impact and ensuring more families have access to diapers.
