Her Interview
Ten minutes with Crystal
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say my experience. I really wasn't sure when I was going to stumble across the right job, but the role has remained the same and I still enjoy that. I think just experience, gaining experience along the way.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
There's definitely going to have to have the type of personality and values that it takes. You just have to be willing to care about the people, and that's where empathy comes in. You definitely have to relate to somebody's situation and put yourself in their spot. Be honest.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges would be an angry customer. Especially with HVAC when it was very hot or very cold.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, because I don't think that there's much there if there's no honesty. Empathy, being able to understand where somebody else is in their life and adapt. Loyalty, of course.
