Her Story
About Cynthia
I've been in the business field for over 20 years, primarily in collections and customer service. My expertise is in helping people get on the right track financially. I work with clients on getting them to pay their bills, but more importantly, I offer services to help them achieve long-term financial stability. I'm very skilled at credit reporting and making sure people understand their finances. I particularly love working with older clients who sometimes get into financial binds and feel like they want to give up or don't think things are going to come out in their favor. I try to guide them toward a better financial position where they can be more independent and not have to rob Peter to pay Paul. In many of my jobs, it was all about selling the product, but to me, it's really about lifting people up so they don't have to go through the bad times. I've been on that end of the spectrum myself, so I try to ease that sense of fear that people have when they're in a financial bind. I was most recently an assistant manager at a loan company with payday loans, where I worked for about 10 months before being laid off due to job cuts. I'm currently looking for office work, ideally in a hospital or care facility where I can have an impact on people, because I really like helping people and I've always had a good run working with them.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my ability to communicate with the normal, everyday person and having conversations that spark people to think about what it is to be in a good place, financially, emotionally, or whatever that is. I tend to always draw friends and family who want to come to me for advice because I try to do what I can for the better good of people. I really believe karma is real and that things do manifest themselves. When you plant good seeds, I feel like you get good reward from that. I make it a point to plant very good seeds because you never know who you may need. I was raised that way by my mom, who always told me that whatever you plan out there, there's going to be a consequence for everything that you do. If you do something good, good consequences will come back. If you do something bad, bad consequences are going to come back. It's just the way of life. I do believe in doing right by people because it doesn't take a lot to be nice or kind to someone. I try to tell my two daughters the same thing, that whatever they put out there will come back to them.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values to me are helping people and being kind. I really believe God has a calling on me to be helpful to people in need or people that need encouraging words. I like to speak good into everything because it's not hard to find the bad in the world. I believe in planting good seeds and doing right by people because it doesn't take a lot to be nice or kind to someone. I believe karma is real and that when you do good things, good things come back to you. I was raised that way by my mom, who taught me that whatever you put out there, there will be consequences. If you do something good, good consequences will come back. If you do something bad, bad consequences will come back. That's just the way of life. I try to pass these values on to my two daughters as well. I also believe you're never too old to learn and never too old to figure things out. Even though I've been out of work since January 27th and things are getting hectic bill-wise, I'm choosing not to allow it to bog me down. I know I've planted good seeds and I feel like they're going to come to harvest. It's just maybe God's way of saying it's not my time yet, just relax, and I'm going to take care of it.
