Her Story

About Cynthia

Cynthia Roesler is a mission-driven human services professional and Director of Residential Services with extensive experience supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She entered the human services field in 2014 after a successful career in the fashion industry, where she held sourcing and distribution roles with organizations including Jones New York and Comar Sleepwear. Seeking a more meaningful career focused on helping others, Cynthia began as a volunteer and substitute staff member before advancing into increasingly responsible leadership positions in residential services.

Throughout her human services career, Cynthia has served in roles including Residential Direct Care Support, Senior Residential Group Home Manager, Residential Director of Operations, and Residential Executive Director. She has led residential programs, managed teams and budgets, overseen regulatory compliance, coordinated individualized service plans, and worked closely with residents, families, advocates, and state agencies. Her leadership of large residential operations has included responsibility for more than 90 residents and over 180 staff members, while her work has emphasized person-centered care, strong communication, organizational improvement, and continuity of services.

Cynthia is also the founder of Integrity Living Foundation Incorporated, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on human services and community support, which she is preparing to operate. Her commitment to service was influenced by her father, who encouraged her to volunteer at a nursing home as a teenager and instilled in her the importance of hard work and giving back. Guided by integrity, compassion, dedication, and transparency, Cynthia strives to create environments where individuals receive respectful, individualized support and where families can feel confident in the care their loved ones receive.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Cynthia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the values my father instilled in me, especially the importance of hard work and giving back to others. Volunteering at a nursing home when I was 13 taught me early on the value of service and compassion.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received was to start my own agency. Family members and others who recognized my passion for human services encouraged me to establish Integrity Living Foundation Incorporated, believing in my vision, values, and unique mindset.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to lead with hard work, dedication, compassion, and transparency. Stay committed to your goals, treat others with empathy, and always be honest and authentic in your work.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is that agencies increasingly prioritize higher-budget clients through fee-for-service models, which can leave individuals with genuine needs without access to essential services. This highlights an opportunity to create more inclusive and accessible service models that prioritize people’s needs alongside financial sustainability.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My integrity is most important to me in both my work and personal life. It guides how I approach every role and interaction, ensuring I give my all and maintain transparency.
