Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to strong faculty mentorship, meaningful professional relationships, and a commitment to continuous learning. My organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving approach have been key in managing complex work in GME.

I’m guided by faith and supported by my family, which keeps me grounded and focused. I value connection, growth, and creating supportive environments where others can succeed.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve received is to never stop learning. Growth doesn’t end with experience—it requires curiosity, reflection, and a willingness to improve.

I carry that mindset into my work in GME and my business, approaching each challenge as an opportunity to learn and do better.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To young women entering Graduate Medical Education: believe in your value and your ability to lead.

Build strong relationships, seek mentors who challenge and support you, and stay open to learning and growth. Don’t be afraid to step into new opportunities, even if they feel uncomfortable at first.

Give yourself grace as you learn and grow. Your perspective matters—especially if you bring diverse experiences. Stay grounded in your values and surround yourself with people who support and uplift you.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in GME is that program management roles are highly demanding yet often underestimated. They are frequently viewed as entry-level, despite requiring specialized skills and no formal training pathway.

At the same time, evolving accreditation standards and regulatory changes make it difficult for programs to stay ahead of compliance, especially with limited administrative support. This can impact both efficiency and overall program effectiveness.

Another ongoing challenge is supporting wellness and well-being among program managers and coordinators, which requires consistent attention, creativity, and institutional commitment.

Despite these challenges, there is real opportunity. More programs are recognizing the value of professional development, mentorship, and coordinator leadership, creating space for meaningful progress in GME.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, faith, family, and service. I approach my work with honesty and dedication, guided by faith, which keeps me grounded through both challenges and growth.

Family is my foundation and a constant source of support, inspiring me to show up as my best self each day. I’m also committed to serving others—whether mentoring future GME professionals, supporting clients, or contributing to my community—with compassion and respect.
