Her Story

About Dahlia

Dahlia Simmons serves in management within healthcare at the University of Florida, where she has worked for over 31 years. After her military service in administration and a stint in real estate, she relocated to Florida and entered the healthcare field. She completed two degrees while working full time and has advanced from entry-level positions through dedication and continuous learning. Simmons leads by example, values integrity, compassion, and empathy, and advises others to never underestimate their capabilities. She finds great reward in mentoring staff who have gone on to become lawyers, RNs, doctors, and PAs. Outside of work, she participates in quarterly volunteer efforts through her church, including feeding families at the Ronald McDonald House and supporting homeless drives.
