Her Story
About Dakota
I am an integrated marketing and product marketing leader with a strong background in go-to-market strategy, brand campaigns, and demand generation, currently serving as Director of Integrated Marketing at Selkirk Sport, a role I have held since July 2025, where I lead integrated marketing efforts with an expanded scope that now includes ownership of the partnerships and influencer team, overseeing brand partnerships, licensing collaborations, and influencer relations with a focus on ROI, strategic alignment, and brand equity.
Prior to this role, I served as Senior Integrated Marketing Manager at Selkirk for over a year, where I expanded from a product-focused role to managing thematic and brand-level campaigns, led campaign strategy and execution across hero, product spotlight, and evergreen categories, managed go-to-market operations for all new products, oversaw promotions and giveaways, strengthened retailer relationships earning Selkirk a preferred partner position, and spearheaded high-impact special projects including a Paddle Comparison Tool and brand activations. I also served as Product Marketing Campaign Manager for eleven months, where I established Selkirk's go-to-market process for product launches, created and documented GTM strategy, integrated cross-functional teams, developed product positioning frameworks, and managed KPIs for GTM execution.
Before joining Selkirk, I served as Go-to-Market Campaign Marketing Manager and Demand Generation Specialist at GovOS for over a year and a half, where I created email nurture programs, aligned with sales teams on outreach, and implemented ABM tactics. I also served as Marketing Manager and Recruiter at Digital Mass for over a year, where I increased organic search by six hundred sixty-four percent in 2021, managed the creation of over fifty blog posts, managed social media presence, created a video series, and managed relationships with PR and design agencies. I also served as Sales Development Representative and Recruiter for four months, where I developed relationships with the local Salesforce community, conducted first-round interviews, and set KPIs for SDR and recruiting activity.
I hold a degree in International Business from Augsburg University and completed Social Media Marketing certification from HubSpot Academy. I am also a member of Peak Community, an invite-only private community of top marketers and marketing leaders.
Across my career in marketing, product marketing, and demand generation, my work has been driven by a commitment to building brands, driving growth, and creating campaigns that connect with audiences and deliver measurable results. Whether I am leading integrated marketing strategy, managing go-to-market operations, or building brand partnerships, I bring a strategic mindset, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a dedication to excellence that has earned recognition and trust across the organizations I have served. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue advancing marketing excellence at Selkirk Sport.

Ten minutes with Dakota
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being curious and being willing to step outside of my specific role and ask questions, not be afraid to get my hands dirty, not be afraid to speak up, say an idea, dig into something that maybe isn't in your specific role at the time. The other side of it is execution, and not waiting to be asked or be told to do something. If you know that it needs to be done, get it done, and then let people know that you did it. Believing in yourself and being your own self-advocate.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Advice I would give to other women in the industry, and kind of growing in leadership, would be to tell people what I was gonna do. Do it, or get it done, and then tell them. It's that continued follow-up, continued execution, and then making sure that you're not doing it behind closed doors. Like, make sure you get the visibility for it.
