Her Story
About Dallis
I've been working since I was young and spent about 10 years in the hospitality industry, primarily bartending, along with catering, cooking, and working as a prep cook and line cook. I've been cooking since I was a little girl, and I wanted to be a sommelier. That passion led me to experiment with adding liquor to cakes, though I eventually moved away from the liquor cake idea and focused on regular cakes, which sold wonderfully. I still make my signature Banana Foster's pudding shortcake, which is a hit. Bartending wasn't as stable as I needed, especially during the slow summer season, so that pushed me to pursue my baking business. I've also always done skincare, which I started officially in 2022. I've had PCOS since I was young, and my journey has been about trying to find a cure for scarring on my face. While I haven't found the exact solution I was looking for, I've created skincare products and lotions that help with certain things. Both of my grandmothers use my rose water toners and skin purification toners daily and ask for them on demand. My skin can't use regular lotion, so I create oil-based moisturizers that smell good without being too perfumey. I'm a firm believer in God, and I believe in planting seeds and taking your time to see what will sprout up. I'm 30 years old and have touched a lot of fields. My mentor, Kimberly DeLosa, the godmother of NOLA, taught me that you don't have to just do one thing and that whatever you do really well, you should put it out there. I've been working with the New Orleans community, planting my seeds and seeing where everything will grow. I've realized that being consistent and knowing in your mind and heart that everything is going to be okay is important, and even if something is small, it's still okay.
