About Dana
Dana D’Amico is an experienced real estate and title-and-escrow professional with more than 28 years of experience in the real estate industry. Her career has included sales, marketing, management, client relations, business development, and escrow operations. She currently serves as an Escrow Officer and Assistant Vice President with Chicago Title Company in Sacramento, California, where she works with real estate professionals, lenders, businesses, and clients to facilitate successful residential, commercial, and refinance transactions. Her experience includes short sales, REO transactions, probate matters, contract negotiations, and other complex real estate transactions.
Throughout her career, Dana has emphasized teamwork, strategic planning, client education, and relationship building. She describes her approach as collaborative, working alongside agents, lenders, businesses, and clients to help them strengthen their knowledge and successfully navigate transactions. Before joining Chicago Title Company, she spent nearly a decade as an Escrow Officer with Placer Title Company. She also worked with Fidelity National Title in Sacramento, where her responsibilities included strategic marketing, client relations, community relationship building, contract negotiations, and handling residential and commercial transactions, including REO and short-sale matters.
Beyond her career in real estate, Dana has pursued writing, public speaking, advocacy, and community-focused work. She has contributed to three books published between 2013 and 2015 and is the author/co-author of Table Spoon of Tears, published in 2014. She has also received national recognition for writing related to Jenny Williamson, a 2014 L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth Honoree and founder of Courage Worldwide. Dana has spoken publicly about violence prevention and advocacy and has discussed her journey toward becoming a death doula, with an emphasis on end-of-life planning, protecting loved ones' affairs, and creating a more honored and culturally sensitive approach to end-of-life care.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to discipline and being honest with myself. I believe in always having goals, remaining focused on what I want to accomplish, and refusing to give up when challenges arise. Staying committed to my goals while being honest about where I am and what I need to improve has helped me continue moving forward throughout my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is that you are never too old to learn something new. I believe continuous learning is essential, regardless of where you are in your career. There is always an opportunity to gain new knowledge, develop new skills, and grow both personally and professionally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to stay healthy and establish strong boundaries. Learn from the mentors and experienced professionals around you, and continue learning every day. It is also important to maintain a healthy work-life balance and communicate openly with your leaders. Building relationships with experienced professionals, staying curious, and knowing when to set boundaries can help create a sustainable and fulfilling career.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are honesty, truth, respect, boundaries, and self-respect. I believe these principles are essential both professionally and personally. Being honest and truthful builds trust, while respecting others and maintaining healthy boundaries allows relationships to remain strong and productive. I also believe that maintaining self-respect is important in making decisions that align with my values and overall well-being.
