Her Story
About Dana
I began my career as an executive assistant, where I quickly learned that the role extends far beyond administrative support. Working closely with senior leadership gave me a vantage point on how organizations operate, from strategic planning to high-level decision-making. Over time, I became interested in understanding the broader business landscape. I wasn't just focused on execution - I wanted to understand the reasoning behind decisions and the long-term impact on the organization. I like to be the it girl, let's put it like that. That curiosity led me to pursue my MBA, allowing me to combine the hands-on experience and learning the formal business education. I've always naturally gravitated towards the business side of things, working closely with executives. They exposed me to strategic conversations, financial planning, organizational decision-making, and of course, on top of the day-to-day things that I generally enjoyed. Understanding how the business or what their scope of work was operated as a whole, whether it was in the healthcare, from a lawyer, from a surgeon, medical director - that's what made me want to pursue my MBA as a way of deepening my knowledge and understanding to potentially grow.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to leaving a legacy behind. I can definitely say my parents have a big, big inspiration to me, but also leaving something behind to my future kids is what I strive for.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received was to invest in my growth, don't underestimate the value of my position, and pretty much don't settle. That's what I did, and what I'm doing.
