Her Story

About Dana

Dana Villaseñor is a seasoned supply chain and logistics professional who serves as a Key Account Supervisor at Gebrüder Weiss, a global logistics company. In this role, she oversees a large strategic account and manages a remote team across multiple locations, supporting complex international logistics operations, trade show shipments, large-scale projects, and high-priority freight. With more than a decade of experience in the industry, Villaseñor began her career as an intern and has built a reputation for quick problem-solving, operational excellence, and developing strong, lasting customer relationships. Although Villaseñor originally planned to pursue a career in education, she ultimately followed her mother into the logistics industry and discovered a passion for the fast-paced and collaborative nature of the field. She credits her experience as a college softball student-athlete, including the dedication and teamwork developed through a softball scholarship, with helping shape the skills she applies in her professional life. Her accomplishments include receiving company-wide Employee of the Month recognition and being selected for the nine-month Orange Rise leadership program, which has further strengthened her leadership and professional development. Throughout her career, Villaseñor has been inspired by the example of her mother, who built a long career in logistics, as well as by the mentorship and leadership of her current branch manager. She is passionate about supporting her team, finding solutions to complex challenges, and delivering exceptional service to customers. With expertise in key account management, export operations, strategic logistics, customer solutions, and team leadership, Villaseñor continues to make a meaningful impact in the global supply chain industry while growing as an operational and people leader.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Dana

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to staying curious, being willing to take on challenges, and never being afraid to ask questions. I’ve also learned the importance of speaking up for myself, advocating for what I want, and pushing myself to pursue continuous growth. Throughout my career, I’ve found that strong relationships, accountability, and consistency matter just as much as technical knowledge. I’ve been fortunate to have leaders who invested in my development, and I strive to pay that forward by supporting my team and approaching every challenge as an opportunity to learn and improve.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that no one is going to care about your career as much as you do. Advocate for yourself, raise your hand for opportunities, and don’t get too comfortable. Growth happens when you’re willing to step outside your comfort zone and challenge yourself to keep learning.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don’t be intimidated by what you don’t know. Supply chain is an industry where no one has all the answers, and every day presents a new challenge. Stay curious, ask questions, and don’t wait until you feel “qualified enough” to raise your hand for an opportunity. This industry rewards people who are proactive, adaptable, and willing to solve problems. Your perspective is valuable, and confidence is built by taking chances, embracing challenges, and continuing to learn.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in supply chain today is navigating constant change. Whether it’s shifting global trade policies, geopolitical events, changing customer expectations, or advances in technology, our industry requires us to be more agile than ever. At the same time, I see tremendous opportunity. Companies that embrace innovation, invest in strong partnerships, and empower their people will be the ones that continue to thrive. It’s an exciting time to be in logistics because the industry is evolving, and there are endless opportunities to make a meaningful impact.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are curiosity, resilience, and authenticity. Whether in my career or my personal life, I strive to approach every challenge with a willingness to learn, stay resilient when things don’t go as planned, and remain true to who I am. I believe success is built through continuous growth, meaningful relationships, and treating others with kindness and respect. Those values help me maintain balance and guide the decisions I make every day.
