Her Interview
Ten minutes with Daniela
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think it comes from an inner desire to achieve. I’m a goal-getter—I enjoy setting goals for myself and working toward achieving them. At the same time, knowing that the work I’m doing can have a positive and meaningful impact on other people’s lives makes those accomplishments even more rewarding.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t focus on doing everything perfectly; focus on getting started. A lot of the time, you figure things out along the way by being hands-on and learning through experience, so don’t wait for the perfect moment. I also think having a good attitude is incredibly important. Enjoy the work you do, build good relationships with the people you work with, and try to bring positive energy into the workplace.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You are going to bring something special to whatever industry you enter, so go into it knowing that you have something of value to offer. Enjoy what you do, give it your best, and remember that your work can also have an impact on the people around you. Try to find something you genuinely enjoy, that you’re good at, and that you can grow into a meaningful career.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty is number one for me. Everyone makes mistakes, but what matters is being able to own up to them and learn from them. Responsibility is also really important—say what you mean, and if you say you’re going to get something done, follow through. At the end of the day, let the quality of your work and your actions speak for themselves.
