About Daniele

Daniele Sane is an Executive Assistant at Morgan Stanley in Georgia, where she has worked since 2000, supporting Wall Street bankers involved in healthcare sector investments on the New York Stock Exchange. In her role, she navigates organized chaos through multitasking, anticipating executive needs, and leveraging internal networks and departments to manage constant change in a fast-paced environment. Prior to her current position, Sane gained experience in hospitality, healthcare, finance, and technology, all while pursuing varied paths as an executive assistant. She takes pride in past work with major clients such as Apple, where she created tailored environments and engaged directly with developers. Sane attributes her professional success to being the bigger person, thanking colleagues for their time, and maintaining a candy dish at her desk to foster relationships and build her network. She values integrity and a strong work ethic, running with tasks to completion whether working independently or as part of a team. Outside of work, Sane is a dedicated advocate for animal welfare, championing donations and supplies for homeless cats and dogs at shelters and rescues, with support from Morgan Stanley's matching program. She advises young women entering the industry to be resilient, assured of who they are, carry themselves with poise, speak confidently, and persevere through challenges. Sane notes that age and AI present both challenges and opportunities in her field, as AI tools for calendaring, travel, drafting, and contract review require careful verification but can enhance efficiency.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Daniele

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being the bigger person, thanking people for their time, and using a candy dish at my desk as an icebreaker to build relationships and networks. Everyone loves candy, and it helps people stop by, chat, and be more willing to help when needed. This has helped me make friends, build my network, and have people to leverage for help at work. Networking and building relationships is key to success because we don't know everything and need to go to others for assistance.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I received was from a managing director who said, 'We both know this isn't fair, but we gotta get through it. What are you gonna do to change it?' This taught me to rise above unfair situations by being welcoming, thanking people for their time, extending help, and making myself available, which builds relationships and helps escalate issues.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women to be resilient, very assured of who you are, carry yourself with poise, walk in like you were the most important person in the room, speak confidently, believe in yourself, and persevere no matter what is thrown at you. Nothing can be thrown at you that you can't figure out or leverage to get help and get past.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges are age, with newer college graduates coming in, and AI, which is being pushed heavily and used for calendaring, travel, drafting correspondence, and reviewing contracts, though it is not error-free and requires double-checking. AI is both a threat and a help. The opportunity is using AI to get the job done quicker, more efficiently, and faster, even though we must verify the output.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and a good work ethic are most important. I believe in running with the ball and taking it to the finish line. I am independent and can handle things on my own or work with a team, leveraging versatility. I don't mind handing things off for help but can also do it myself, which helps me grow and fosters teamwork.
