Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of technical expertise, creativity, and entrepreneurial drive. As a transportation engineer, I’ve built a strong foundation in problem-solving and project management, which has allowed me to successfully expand into my own skincare and floral design businesses. Balancing these diverse ventures requires adaptability, passion, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to keep pushing forward and earn respect through my work, especially in a male-dominated field. Approaching my career with both compassion and a deep understanding of engineering has allowed me to navigate challenges effectively while staying true to my values.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to get out of your own way and focus on building competence, maintaining integrity, and genuinely helping others. True leadership is about lifting people up, not controlling or stepping on them, and success comes from empowering those around you while staying confident in your own abilities.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is that it remains predominantly male-dominated. This presents both obstacles and opportunities: while navigating bias and underrepresentation can be difficult, it also creates a chance to lead by example, inspire other women, and help reshape the culture to be more inclusive and collaborative.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are helping others and using my creativity to make meaningful experiences happen. Whether it’s planning a baby shower, a wedding, or the opening of a business, I take pride in bringing people’s visions to life and making a positive impact through my skills and imagination.
