Her Story

About Danielle

Danielle Lamere serves as a Marketing and Communications Intern, balancing her part-time role in media and communications with studies toward an associate's degree in marketing. Her path into the field began with a passion for creative projects, including graphic design and visual arts, which led her to develop marketing campaigns for her published work and volunteer with nonprofits such as Cartoonist United. In her internship, she independently manages workflows that include script writing, filming, planning, video editing in Premiere Pro, graphic design, and email campaigns. She graduated high school with honors, is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and was nominated by her professor for the Annual Student Excellence Awards in mathematics. Danielle values discipline and patience, remains largely self-taught, and sees AI as both a challenge and opportunity in marketing, emphasizing the need for human guidance. She advises aspiring professionals to volunteer early, seek opportunities, and follow passion projects to gain experience.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Danielle

01What do you attribute your success to?

I just want things really bad. I want a good future. I'm really willing to work hard for the future that I want, and I can see it as a realistic possibility, so I stay motivated. With the grind, yeah.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

If you want to get really good at something, do it for someone else first. Perfect is the enemy of done. Everything I've learned has been mostly self-taught.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

It's never too early or too late to start volunteering and start asking for opportunities. If you want to change your life, you have to take any route possible. Do things that other people maybe wouldn't. Don't be afraid to work for free to get experience. Follow your passion projects.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The role of AI is both a challenge and an opportunity. It's about learning what's worth delegation to AI and what's not. Some people over-embrace it or stay purists, but it can accelerate output and interpret data. You still need humans to guide it because your audience will still be humans.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Discipline and patience, the ability to work hard for a long time with faith that you'll reap the rewards in the future. Discipline and consistency are my core values. I've sacrificed a lot of time on personal projects but stay driven toward goals.
