What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of diligence, attention to detail, and a passion for the work I do. I am particularly proud of my experience importing vehicles and working with live animals, including coordinating K9 imports from Hungary for police training programs. These projects require a high level of vigilance, precise planning, and ensuring smooth customs clearance, all of which have honed my organizational and problem-solving skills.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my mentor, who guided me early in my career at Janel Group and JF Moran. These experiences provided me with a strong foundation in the industry and the opportunity to expand my knowledge, ultimately allowing me to take ownership of projects and confidently apply my skills to lead and make an impact.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to be prepared for a demanding role with long hours, and to approach it with dedication and focus in order to work efficiently. It’s also essential to understand the importance of the supply chain and how critical it is to ensure the smooth movement of products across the industry.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is finding ways to grow and adapt while maintaining strong mentorship and support networks. I’m inspired by the mentors and role models who have guided me, and I actively seek opportunities to give back through volunteer work and community engagement. These experiences not only help me grow professionally but also allow me to share knowledge and inspire others, shaping a meaningful career story.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, honesty, determination, and patience. I’ve demonstrated these values throughout my journey—from leaving New England, packing a suitcase, and moving to Florida to start fresh, to building a career and making a name for myself from scratch. Outside of work, I enjoy practicing yoga, reading on the beach, caring for animals, volunteering, and expressing my love for music and singing. These activities help me stay grounded, balanced, and connected to my passions.
