What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of hands-on experience, starting from the ground up, a genuine passion for problem-solving and building strong relationships with customers. Over 20 years, I've embraced the multifaceted nature of this industry, continuously learning to work smarter, mentoring the next generation, and fostering a supportive culture where flexibility and care for employees’ well-being are key.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Do what you love and love what you do. Always put people first. You take care of them and they take care of the business.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to be authentically yourself and know that while the work is challenging—with long hours and physical demands. The key is perseverance and never giving up. If you stick with it, the industry offers rewarding futures for you and your families.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in our field is that smaller family owned companies are struggling to compete with large national corporations that can offer customers incentives like rebates and bundled services. Our recent merger transformed us from a $10 million company to a $110 million one, highlighting the shifting dynamics in the industry. At the same time, there’s great opportunity for growth. We’re in a highly niche field with strong job security, and I’m passionate about finding new ways to raise awareness and attract talent to this vital industry.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In both my work and personal life, I strive to live by faith, putting God first and approaching everything with integrity, honesty, and authenticity. I believe in being the best version of myself, always challenging and growing. (I hate to feel stagnate.) I know as a leader, that purely means I am here to serve others and assure they become the best versions of themselves. Watching them grow and flourish, that kind of impact is what drives me every day. May my ceiling be their floor.
