Danielle Terrell owns Speedy Fleet, LLC and Logistics Recovery, based at 207 Taft Street in Gary, Indiana. She has spent five years in the logistics field, building her expertise through roles in dispatch, recruiting, and brokerage before launching her own companies. Terrell holds a master's degree and is pursuing a doctorate. Her operations include a fleet of sprinter vans and pickup trucks, with two trucks dedicated to medical carriers and others handling contracts such as auto parts transport. She avoids heavier DOT and MC regulations by keeping vehicles under 10,000 pounds and plans gradual expansion into box trucks and eventually 18-wheelers, along with teaching others in the industry.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You gotta wake up every morning and believe in yourself, and you can't give up. The word no is okay. You have to be willing to learn. Determination is the key. If you're not determined, you gotta think it's 50,000 people trying to get into logistics.
