Dannielle Mumma
Dannielle Mumma is an accomplished telecommunications and procurement leader with nearly 30 years of industry experience, currently serving as Director of Procurement at LightCraft. She began her career as a coax splicer and advanced through nearly every field role, building a deep, hands-on understanding of broadband infrastructure. Early in her career, she became one of the few technicians in her department to climb telephone poles, worked as a sweep technician supporting cable internet services, and earned certification as a fiber splicer. This technical foundation continues to inform her strategic approach to procurement, contract evaluation, and financial analysis. Throughout her career, Dannielle has held progressive leadership roles, including Outside Plant Engineer, Supervisor, Outside Plant Manager, and Director of Operations. She supervised large-scale construction builds, including major projects following the Adelphia transition for Comcast, and developed expertise in managing crews, coordinating with utilities, and delivering complex infrastructure projects on time. Known for her ability to bridge field operations with executive strategy, she has consistently driven efficiency, safety, and performance across multidisciplinary teams. Her most significant accomplishment was her 15-year tenure helping to build EC Fiber, Vermont’s first Communications Union District, established in 2015. As Outside Plant Manager and later Director of Operations, she led the construction of nearly 2,000 miles of fiber optic network, bringing high-speed internet access to more than 10,000 rural customers. What began as a community-funded initiative ultimately grew into a successful, large-scale operation backed by institutional financing. Following the organization’s evolution under GWI and transition into LightCraft, Dannielle moved into her current procurement leadership role in August, where she leverages her extensive field experience to guide financial decisions, contract reviews, and invoicing standards. She is also known for her strong partnership with her husband of 19 years, with whom she has worked closely to troubleshoot network challenges and lead storm response efforts, further demonstrating her dedication to the communities she served.

What do you attribute your success to?
Those who kept pushing me to stay in the industry and helping me learn all that I could. I have a special appreciation for all of them.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Only you are the one who can make things happen, just keep at it and you will succeed.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell them to mind your P's and Q's, keep your head on straight, and keep moving forward, because there will always be people who don't want you here. When I first started out, I recall only working with 3 other women, and they didn't last more than a week or two. It's a man's world, and I've certainly experienced the repercussions of that on several occasions, including being harassed early in my career. Women in this industry have come a long way since then, and I have more courage to stand up for myself.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There is a lot of government money being allocated to build fiber optics into rural communities. The biggest challenges are the power companies who are taking advantage of this making the builds more expensive for make ready costs and taking away more of the money that is meant for build to pay them for maintaining their systems.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty and loyalty are very important to me professionally and in personal life. It's important to build relationships that last and with people who you can count on when you need them.
