What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a deep commitment to service, continuous growth, and a belief in the power of education to transform lives. My career began as a teacher aide, where I built a strong foundation in supporting children and educators, and it evolved into owning and expanding a national franchise dedicated to training and certifying teachers to serve classrooms in underserved communities. Along the way, I earned my PhD, joined multiple boards, and broadened my impact through initiatives that support individuals reentering society after incarceration, provide housing assistance, and offer care for those living with PTSD. As I continue my journey, including my current studies to become a local pastor, my work remains guided by purpose, faith, and a lifelong dedication to empowering people and strengthening communities.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to be someone people can admire lead with integrity, remain authentic, and let your actions consistently reflect your values.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and greatest opportunities in my field is addressing addiction with compassion, accessibility, and long-term support. While many individuals struggle to find resources that meet them where they are, this gap creates an opportunity to expand education, community-based programs, and holistic services that treat addiction as a health and social issue rather than a moral failing. By reducing stigma, increasing access to care, and building strong support systems, we can create meaningful pathways to recovery and lasting change for individuals, families, and communities.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are my family especially my daughter my faith, and my church community. These pillars ground me, guide my decisions, and shape the way I serve others, reminding me to lead with compassion, integrity, and purpose in everything I do.
