Her Story
About Daria
I always loved movie trailers and the advertising that gets people to go to the theater. My path started serendipitously with recommendations leading to jobs on the agency side as an assistant editor on movie trailers, then producing, before moving to Disney where I now creatively direct trailers, TV spots, music videos, print campaigns with movie posters, and art for premieres and events while guarding creative marketing for all international markets.

01What do you attribute your success to?
A combination of passion for the work and always being energized and excited by it, which has driven me to work hard. Being a driven personality who doesn't give up when underestimated has also been key.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Leave your ego at the door. Even at the top, don't be afraid to take out the trash or do the work no one else wants to do. Wear many hats, collaborate as a team, and remember it's a team sport.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be afraid to do it all. If you're underestimated early in your career, prove them wrong later by showing you are capable. Keep believing in yourself and eventually it all catches up and you make it to the top.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
AI and technology are disrupting the field, requiring constant innovation and workflow improvements. Companies are consolidating and tightening budgets, so marketers must get creative to produce results and make a profit while things change rapidly.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, kindness, and compassion. Being a kind, compassionate leader who is honest and works hard to not only do a good job but make the world better for other people.
