About Darlene

I am an educator, vocalist, vocal coach, nonprofit leader, and doctoral student who has been working in my field for more than 35 years. I use music, ministry, and education as tools to help people discover their voice, their confidence, and their purpose. I founded and serve as executive director of Joyful Sounds Unlimited, a 501c3 nonprofit that empowers youth and adults through music, movement, creative expression, and personal development. Currently, I'm running my nonprofit where we're creating our summer program intensive and master classes. I have a master class for girls ages 10 to 14 that I'm registering people for now, and I have a current vocal master class already going for adults. I also offer private voice lessons and private piano lessons. Additionally, I work for Baylor Truett Theological Seminary as a recruiting consultant, and I am the worship leader at my church. I'm also currently working on my doctoral studies in ministry. All of these intersections run together in my daily life, and I touch every one of those places in some way every day. They're all connected by one mission: helping people find and use their voice.
