Her Interview
Ten minutes with Daura
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith in God, perseverance through adversity, commitment to lifelong learning, and a genuine passion for serving others. I believe that growth comes from trusting the process, remaining resilient through challenges, and staying committed to continuous personal and professional development.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to learn from every leader, both good and challenging. Exceptional leaders taught me the importance of integrity by remaining true to my values without compromise, communicating effectively by listening with empathy, and maintaining a clear vision, because vision fuels resilience and purpose. Challenging leaders taught me valuable lessons in accountability and helped me understand how decisions can significantly impact both people and organizations. Together, these experiences have shaped my leadership philosophy and professional growth.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The best advice I would offer women in my industry is to build strong, meaningful relationships through networking both within and outside your field. Never stop learning, because professional and personal growth should be a lifelong journey. Most importantly, lead with both confidence and compassion, as true leadership requires strength, empathy, and authenticity.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the most significant challenges facing HR professionals is cultivating a culture that balances organizational goals with employee well-being and ensures every individual feels valued, empowered, and positioned for success.
The greatest opportunity in HR is to serve as a strategic partner in shaping organizational culture and developing talent. HR can influence employee success, strengthen leadership, and create workplaces where people feel valued, empowered, and motivated to perform at their best.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me, both professionally and personally, are integrity, resilience, and compassion. Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching and remaining true to my values without compromise. Resilience is the ability to persevere through adversity, recognizing that everyone experiences setbacks, but true strength is found in rising again and moving forward. Compassion and empathy allow us to positively impact the lives of others by understanding their experiences, supporting their growth, and treating them with dignity and respect.
