Her Story
About Davida
Davida Lovelace is a content creator and founder of Vita Fashionista and Philly Influencer Mixer. She earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management Administration from Gwinnett Mercy University in May 2010. After graduation she pursued fashion styling but faced barriers due to lack of experience, leading her to start a blog in 2014 documenting her outfits and securing brand collaborations. This work served as an online resume that helped her obtain an unpaid remote internship and style New York Fashion Week, after which she was hired as a fashion stylist at QVC. In 2019 she founded the Philly Influencer Mixer to build community among creators. Lovelace attributes her success to strong multitasking skills and lessons from her Girl Scout background in entrepreneurship. She advises separating business from personal matters and remaining persistent without letting ego interfere.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Davida
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think I'm a really good multitasker. I always have running tabs and I start something then go to something else but always come back. I was a Girl Scout too, and Girl Scouts teaches you a lot with entrepreneurship.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to not take things personally in business. You have to separate business and personal, understand you can't take everybody with you or please everybody, and be persistent without letting ego get in the way. It's business, not personal.
