Her Story
About Davida
She is a dedicated career and personal development coach, founder, and advocate for people with disabilities with over four decades of experience in rehabilitation counseling, career coaching, and workforce development. As Founder of the Career Performance Institute, she has worked since 1983 to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve gainful employment and entrepreneurial success. Her personal journey—entering the workforce in the late 1970s when few opportunities existed for people with disabilities and being unable to find agency support that met her needs—inspired her to build a platform providing training, resources, and support to help others overcome similar barriers. She also serves as a Career & Personal Development Coach, helping clients strategize plans for their success. Her career includes serving as Human Resources Technician and Recertification Counselor in social services. She holds an MS in Rehabilitation Counseling from Hunter College and an AAS and BS in Mental Health and Psychology from Armstrong State University. She is recognized as a resilient, compassionate, and visionary leader who is deeply committed to breaking down barriers, empowering individuals with disabilities, and building pathways to independence and success.
