What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my mother. She was always a strong, independent woman who taught me to stand on my own two feet, always learning to do things on my own. She instilled in me the importance of being true to myself, and those lessons have guided me throughout my entire career.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to try not to overthink things. Be true to yourself, try not to overthink, and then just do your best that you can on a day-to-day basis. This advice has helped me navigate my career and stay grounded in what really matters.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't let the naysayers predict what your future's gonna be. Be strong and believe that you have a right to be in the same spot that anybody else has. Women still, today, have a struggle. I'm in a man's position, or profession, as some people would call it, so you still have that struggle. You still have to be strong and put your best foot forward and try to rise above any negativity that you might receive.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is having a fair opportunity to advance, which is still an issue today even though I'm very much wanting to do so, even at my age right now. As for opportunities, they have to be able to present themselves in order for you to have the opportunity. I've lacked on finding more opportunities out there, not because of lack of will, but because I enjoy what I do. I enjoy the people I work with and the accounts that I have, so I just haven't gone forward to seek out more opportunities elsewhere.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being honest and ethical are the most important values to me. I think that being honest and ethical are one of the key, key components in both my work and personal life.
