What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received includes three key lessons: don’t make any changes in your first 60 days at a new organization, never ask an employee to do something you wouldn’t do yourself, and always make your employees look good while making your boss look even better.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to keep a “brag file” of your accomplishments and always advocate for yourself.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field has been overcoming perceptions about my age, as I started my career very young. This has also presented opportunities to prove my capabilities and build credibility early on.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are compassion, loyalty, respect, and a strong work ethic. Outside of work, I enjoy crafting—making blankets and jewelry—love all things Martha Stewart and cherish my role as a mother of three and grandmother of two.
