What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to take risks and not hold yourself back out of fear or overthinking. You miss every opportunity you don’t pursue, so it’s important to trust your abilities and believe in your own potential. I know my worth and remain committed to continuous learning, which allows me to grow and adapt. Challenges will come, but I see them as lessons, and learning from those hard moments is what drives true growth and long-term success.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
When I first entered the industry, the multifamily market was very slow, with limited transactions and hesitation from ownership groups to invest in renovations due to uncertain ROI. While that created challenges, it also gave me space to learn and grow at a manageable pace as I transitioned through different areas of construction, from residential roofing to outdoor living and eventually large-scale commercial renovations. One of the biggest opportunities I experienced came from building relationships, including bringing on a major senior living group, which ultimately became a learning experience when operational capacity couldn’t meet their needs at the time. Although that was a setback, I maintained the relationship and continue to explore future partnership opportunities now that the market is beginning to improve and my current organization is better aligned to meet that demand.
