01What do you attribute your success to?
When I’m asked what I attribute my success to, the first thing that comes to mind is my mom. I was raised by a strong, independent single mother who taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and never giving up. Her influence shaped my work ethic early on. One example is that I earned my two-year associate degree while working full-time and living on my own, taking college classes one at a time. I never gave up and kept moving forward, which taught me that success often comes from persistence rather than speed. I also believe a large part of my success comes from surrounding myself with good people. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work with talented teams and leaders who challenged me, supported me, and gave me opportunities to learn, brainstorm, and collaborate. I’m a strong believer in the idea that who you surround yourself with matters. Another key factor has been a willingness to keep learning. Much of what I’ve learned has come through hands-on experience, applying new knowledge along the way and building on it over time. I’m also passionate about what I do, and that passion motivates me to show up each day and do my best. Above all, I’ve learned to never quit. There will always be challenges and setbacks, but as long as you keep trying, growing, and moving forward, you continue to create opportunities for success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received has come from some truly amazing leaders I've been fortunate to work with over the years. They encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone, try new things, and understand that not everything will work out perfectly, and that's okay. The important part is learning from every experience and using those lessons to grow. I've also learned the value of building strong relationships and working as a team. Success is rarely achieved alone, and there's a lot of truth in the saying, "teamwork makes dream work." Another piece of advice that has always stuck with me is to maintain a sense of humor. Work hard, but don't forget to enjoy the journey along the way. It's also important to find work that you genuinely enjoy, because passion and fulfillment make all the difference. Finally, I've learned to keep emotions in check and not take criticism personally. Constructive feedback is an opportunity to learn, improve, and become better at what you do.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry would be to focus on building strong relationships and developing a strong professional network. The connections you make throughout your career can provide valuable support, guidance, and opportunities along the way. Don't be afraid to speak up, share your ideas, and contribute your perspective in meetings and discussions—but just as importantly, take the time to listen and learn from those around you. Be a team player and look for ways to go above and beyond in supporting your colleagues, because collaboration and trust are essential to long-term success. Most importantly, find a role that you're genuinely passionate about. When you truly enjoy what you do, it not only makes the hard work worthwhile, but it also brings a level of fulfillment that can't be measured by a title alone.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in digital marketing today is keeping up with the constantly evolving digital landscape. Technology, platforms, consumer behaviors, and best practices are always changing, and the rapid rise of artificial intelligence has accelerated that pace even further. While AI presents tremendous opportunities and has become an invaluable tool in my day-to-day work—particularly for content development and idea generation—it still requires human oversight. I often review, refine, and rewrite AI-generated content to ensure it reflects the appropriate brand voice, feels authentic, and maintains a personal connection with the audience. This is especially important when creating content on behalf of a company, where consistency and credibility are critical.
Another challenge is time. There are only so many hours in the day, and balancing project responsibilities with ongoing professional development can be difficult. Staying productive while also dedicating time to learning new tools, technologies, and industry trends requires discipline and intentional time management. At the same time, I see continuous learning as one of the greatest opportunities in our field. Digital marketing offers endless possibilities for growth, innovation, and creativity. As our world becomes increasingly fast-paced and technology-driven, those who remain curious, adaptable, and committed to learning will be best positioned to succeed and take advantage of the opportunities ahead.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are balance, strong relationships, and integrity. My personal motto has always been, "work hard, play hard," and it's something I genuinely strive to live by. Over the years, I've learned the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance and being intentional about making time for the people and activities that matter most. I value open, honest communication and believe that strong, healthy relationships, both professionally and personally, are built on trust, respect, and authenticity. In my career, I want to do meaningful work, contribute to a team, and make a positive impact, but it's equally important to me to be present and supportive in my personal life. I'm happily married, have a wonderful 33-year-old son, and a grandpup that I absolutely adore. As a family, we love spending time outdoors, especially at the lake, and those moments remind me of the importance of staying grounded and enjoying life beyond work. Making memories along the way is what keeps me grounded.
