Her Story

About Dayana

Throughout my professional journey, I have embraced growth, reinvention, and the courage to pursue a career aligned with both my purpose and my strengths. Early in life, I envisioned a future in law, and to this day, I still have a deep appreciation for that profession. However, I quickly realized that my fulfillment would come from a different path—one centered on people, service, and leadership.

I began my studies in nursing at Hunter College before transitioning into Business Administration and Management, ultimately earning my bachelor’s degree from Berkeley College in New York City. I am also nearing completion of my MBA, a milestone that reflects my commitment to continuous growth and professional development.

Throughout my career, I found myself drawn to both the clinical and business sides of healthcare. That unique combination has shaped my perspective and fueled my passion for leadership. I have always felt called to guide, mentor, and inspire others, and I am fortunate to live out that passion not only in my professional career but also through life coaching, where I help women elevate their mindset, confidence, and personal success.

Before relocating to Miami in 2024, I worked in many of New York City’s leading hospitals, gaining firsthand experience in patient care and healthcare operations. Today, I have the privilege of working in medical sales, a career that offers the autonomy, flexibility, and human connection that I value most. It allows me to build meaningful relationships, create my own path, and spend my days engaging directly with healthcare providers and patients.

What sets medical sales apart for me is the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives. Many of the conditions we support are not curable, but through education, innovation, and compassionate care, we can help improve quality of life and outcomes. Being part of a patient’s journey toward better health is incredibly rewarding and serves as a constant reminder of why I chose this field.

As a woman in healthcare and business, I believe leadership is not defined by a title but by the impact we have on others. My mission is to continue empowering people, creating meaningful connections, and inspiring women to pursue careers and lives that align with their purpose, passions, and potential.

Ten minutes with Dayana

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping others. Throughout my career, I’ve never been afraid to pivot when something no longer aligned with my purpose. I’ve embraced change, trusted my instincts, and remained committed to continuous growth, both personally and professionally. Most importantly, I believe success comes from building meaningful relationships, leading with authenticity, and staying focused on making a positive impact in the lives of others. My faith, determination, and willingness to step outside of my comfort zone have been the driving forces behind every opportunity and achievement along the way.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is, “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” While it may sound cliché, it has been one of the most impactful lessons in my professional journey. It encouraged me to look beyond titles and paychecks and truly identify what I am passionate about and where my strengths lie. By pursuing work that aligns with my purpose and allows me to connect with and help others, I’ve built a career that feels incredibly fulfilling. Rather than feeling like work, each day feels like an opportunity to do something I genuinely enjoy and make a meaningful difference.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Sales, like many industries, has traditionally been a male-dominated environment. My advice to women entering any competitive field is simple: believe in yourself, be confident, and most importantly, be authentic.

I’ve learned that when you walk into a room as your true self, you don’t have to spend energy trying to fit a mold or be someone you’re not. Authenticity creates confidence, and confidence earns respect. Some of my greatest growth has come from being in rooms where I wasn’t yet where I wanted to be, but I was gaining the experience, knowledge, and perspective needed to get there.

Every challenge, every difficult conversation, and every seat at the table has helped shape my character and strengthen my leadership. Success isn’t about having all the answers from the beginning, it’s about having the courage to show up, learn, and continue growing. Trust your voice, embrace the journey, and never underestimate the value of being unapologetically yourself

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my industry is navigating a highly competitive marketplace, where multiple companies often offer similar products and solutions. Standing out requires more than simply selling a product..it requires building trust, creating meaningful relationships, and demonstrating genuine value. I’ve learned that success comes from focusing on service, education, and understanding the unique needs of the people you serve. While competition can be challenging, it also pushes me to continuously grow, innovate, and deliver the highest level of support to my customers and patients.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide my life are integrity, empathy, love, and family. As a mother, those principles shape every decision I make, both personally and professionally. I am incredibly family-oriented and value the close-knit relationships I have built throughout my life. Each day, I strive to live to my fullest potential and be intentional about showing up as the best version of myself in every role I hold.

While I am a full-time medical sales professional, I am also a full-time basketball mom. My son is now in high school, and much of our life revolves around travel basketball and supporting his dreams. Being fully invested in his future is one of my greatest joys and responsibilities.

Professionally, what sets healthcare sales apart for me is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. Many of the patients we serve are living with chronic conditions that may not have a cure, but through education, support, and innovative solutions, we can help improve their quality of life. Being part of that journey and helping individuals navigate their circumstances is incredibly rewarding.
