What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my determination, of course, and my fiance. It's crazy that actually being with the right person can help you a lot. Having that support system has made such a difference in my journey.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was don't quit. At this point, it's actually kind of more coming to light that that's what you should never do, because I am getting more attention from people around me now that they've seen me in financial services for 5-6 years. I'm actually getting messages here and there on Facebook, like, hey, I've been thinking about contacting you, and I've seen you've been doing this for a while. Things are actually starting to finally happen, and it's because I didn't quit.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
For women entering this field, I would say remember why you're joining, always. And never quit. If this is really what you want to do, and your why is strong enough, then it shouldn't be a problem not to quit. Just keep learning what you can all the time. Never stop working on yourself, either. Your why is what will keep you going through the challenges.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field is just learning what I need to learn, and learning it accurately. Getting everything correct, because it is a lot to know. But the opportunities are amazing. I get to meet a ton of different cool people that have their own businesses, and have their own talents, and different things going on. I love networking with people, even if it's not for anything financial services related, just in any way that I can help them out, or they can help me out. That's probably my favorite thing about being in business.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family time is definitely most important to me, along with financial freedom to be with my family and do the things that I want to do. I want to be able to help more clients and go out and meet more people. I really like helping the community, and I definitely plan to do more of that once I can get my full-time job out of the way and have more freedom.
