Her Story

About Deanna

Deanna Brown serves as co-founder and co-CEO of three businesses launched in late 2025. These include Continuum Pro, a business consultancy grounded in AI enablement and AI literacy, X Collective (or Alpha Collective), which provides talent management and professional guidance for athletes, artists, and creators, and a $15 million late-stage venture fund focused on investing in and scaling profitable legacy small businesses. With nearly 40 years in the field, her expertise centers on transformation and change management, anchored in hiring and developing great people and leaders. She began her career in print journalism after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Southern California, then pioneered digital media starting in 1994 at Condé Nast before launching divisions at Scripps Networks, AOL, and Yahoo, as well as her own companies with multiple exits. She later saved and transformed Billboard Magazine and The Hollywood Reporter, taking them to profitability before their sale in 2020. Brown also serves as chair of the board for the Street Soccer USA Austin chapter and on its national board, while supporting civil rights organizations and climate initiatives. She attributes her success to great people, passion, and relentless drive, and advises young women to dream bigger.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Deanna

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to great people, a palatable amount of passion for everything I do, and being relentless. I just won't give up and push through things.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I advise young women to dream bigger. They set their expectations too low due to fear or lack of confidence. It takes the same amount of energy to pursue bolder opportunities that give more chances.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I am a people-first person focused on humanity, raising people up, and building programs. Respect, trust, honesty, transparency, and vulnerability are key. I am an over-communicator because clarity is kindness.
