About Debbie
I am a corrections professional and media enthusiast dedicated to bridging public service with effective communication and community engagement. My career began in correctional facilities with Orange County Government, where I served in roles ranging from Orientation Officer to Correctional Training Officer, responsible for orienting incoming inmates, developing and delivering training programs for new recruits and experienced staff, and maintaining detailed statistical and operational records.
I also served as a Public Information Officer, handling media relations, managing communications in the PIO Office, and ensuring accurate dissemination of sensitive information. Earlier in my career, I hosted a community-focused TV show, “Corrections In the Community,” to educate the public about Orange County Government services.
Currently, I co-host a podcast and engage in writing projects, leveraging my public speaking and personal development skills to inform, inspire, and entertain audiences while sharing insights from my experience in corrections, public safety, and leadership. My work is centered on mentorship, community education, and effective storytelling.
