Dr. Deborah Bloom

In my SVP role, I lead people on a daily basis through coaching, leading, and developing staff. I also work on strategy within the department for how to move loans through and get the work done, including pipeline management. I manage the work itself to make sure things get done, as well as managing the people aspect on an individual level. Because our company is growing, things are changing, so I do a lot of leading, teaching, and coaching one-to-one. I focus on strategy within the department to help with growth, risk mitigation on individual files, and problem solving. I also handle risk mitigation for the department as a whole - if our suspenses or things are trending in an upward fashion, we have to go back and look at where we need to make improvements and what kind of education I need to deliver to the team. I also do relationship coaching to help people develop relationships across different departments so that things can get done in a smooth manner. The daily life is different every day, which is the part of this job that's actually very fun. I like the challenge, and I like the variety.
