About Deborah

I worked in human rights philanthropy for over 50 years. I had a very unique PhD, and because of that, my resume stood out and people hired me to do things. I was interested in the Third World at a time when there weren't too many people that were focused on that area. I had a very unique set of circumstances throughout my career. Now at 86, I'm winding down, though I still mentor a lot of people. I just don't have the bandwidth anymore to promote or do extensive professional activities beyond my little things.

I was interested in the Third World at a time when there weren't too many people that were focused on that area, so that helped distinguish me. I had a very unique set of circumstances throughout my career that I don't think would resonate with most people, but those circumstances created opportunities for me.
